Immunization Quality Improvement
Immunization quality improvement (QI) refers to activities intended to improve immunization coverage rates. The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) can support your immunization quality improvement efforts in several ways.
Provider-led projects
MDH is available to consult and/or partner with provider organizations who are interested in implementing a quality improvement project, whether on a short- or long-term basis. Contact health.IQIP@state.mn.us to schedule an initial consultation.
CDC's program
The immunization quality improvement for providers (IQIP) program supports MnVFC-eligible providers through the implementation of CDC-defined, provider-level quality improvement strategies designed to increase on-time vaccination of children and adolescents. The program starts with a site visit to assess the provider's vaccination workflow, review baseline immunization coverage rates, and select action items to implement. Other quality improvement projects
At times, MDH will sponsor projects designed to support providers in specific quality improvement goals.
HPV Vaccination Improvement Project (2024)
In 2024, MDH partnered with the American Cancer Society (ACS) to provide programming to support and assist clinics in improving their HPV immunization rates.
