Trauma Education for Hospital Nurses
The Trauma Education for Hospital Nurses are a series of 12 modules. This is an optional tool for use by hospitals which meet the Trauma Education requirements for inpatient nurses. This series of e-learning can be taken at any time.
All trauma program leaders (trauma program managers/coordinators, medical directors/medical advisors, CEO/administrators) of Level 3 and Level 4 Trauma Hospitals are encouraged to attend. Nursing Continuing Education Units (CEU) will be offered.

Overview of the State Trauma System
Trauma System designation criteria
Trauma performance improvement (PI) concepts
Educational opportunities and networking for continuous growth of Trauma Programs
The Trauma Program 101 Course will be held on the following dates:
April 16, 2026, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Mayo Clinic Health System, 800 Medical Center Dr, Fairmont, MN 56031 Register for the April 16 course.
October 15, 2026, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Buffalo Hospital, 303 Catlin St., Buffalo, MN 55313 Registration is not yet open.
MDH Trauma Data Quality Report Q&A Sessions
An open forum to discuss and seek answers to questions regarding the newly rolled out Quarterly MDH Trauma Data Quality Report. All are welcome to join.
No registration necessary.
The Trauma Data Quality Report Q&A Sessions will be held virtually from 1:00-2:00 pm on the following dates:
A Performance Improvement (PI) series will follow the Trauma Program 101 Course. This PI series is intended to be an interactive and in-depth learning of the topics introduced at the 101 course.
While the Trauma Program 101 Course and the PI series can be taken in sequential order, it's not necessary. Take these courses as you can. All of these offerings will be repeated on an ongoing basis.

This virtual training is an optional orientation for the Trauma Medical Director/Co-TMD role. This will include a presentation with time for questions and answers. Registration is not required to attend.
