Video Transcript:
The next room we will review is the bathroom.
Excess moisture, mold, and pests are the most common asthma trigger problems found in bathrooms.
Excess moisture is generated
- while bathing and showering, and
- from leaks around plumbing fixtures
This excess moisture is what can lead to mold growth, as well as attract pests, such as cockroaches.
So, while in the bathroom, you need to determine if there is an excess moisture problem.
- Do you see any growth of mold or mildew?
- Is a ventilation fan installed, and does it work?
- Are there any leaks or holes around the toilet and the sink that could indicate evidence of pests?
- Are air freshener products being used?
Also, while checking the bathroom, look to see if any hazardous or toxic material such as pesticides or cleaning products, are being stored in this room.
