Video Transcript:

Air pollution and pollen are two key outdoor environmental triggers which can aggravate asthma.

As you are driving to the home, take notice of common sources of air pollution along the route such as:

  • a nearby freeway
  • roads with heavy traffic, or
  • a manufacturing plant.

If you observe any of these, make a note to ask the individual if their asthma problems tend to be worse:

  • when traffic is heavy, or
  • when there are alerts for poor outdoor air quality days.
