Minnesota Partners in Public Health Conference
The Local Public Health Association (LPHA) and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) are excited to bring back this dynamic opportunity for learning and connection: the Minnesota Partners in Public Health Conference.
We invite you to join us in October 2025 in Breezy Point, MN. With a conference theme of United in passion and purpose we will affirm our commitment to the important work of ensuring Minnesotans can live their healthiest lives, leverage the unique attributes each part of the public health system brings to the work, and grow in our understanding of what it means to stand together, even in the face of adversity.
Conference purpose
Strengthen the partnership between local, Tribal and state public health, create a shared understanding of what this partnership means, and develop our skills as public health professionals.
Conference objectives
By the end of the conference, attendees will be able to:
- Describe the common mission/vision between local, Tribal and state public health.
- Better understand the strengths and assets that the LPHA, MDH, and Tribal Public Health bring to the partnership.

- Build relationships with other public health professionals and engage in opportunities for shared learning.
- Learn about up-to-date practices, tools, and programs that contribute to their development as a public health professional.
Who should attend?
The conference is designed with content that is most relevant and beneficial for the following groups:
- Local public health department directors, CHS administrators and staff: Our goal is to have every local public health agency represented at this conference.
- Tribal health department leaders and staff: Participants from the health departments of Minnesota’s 11 Tribal Nations are encouraged to attend.
- MDH leadership and staff: A wide representation of attendees across MDH divisions is sought.

Start planning your attendance now!
Local and Tribal public health: LPHA is unable to provide free registrations to local and Tribal public health agencies in 2025. Your agency does not have to be a member of LPHA to attend this conference. We want a wide representation of all those in local public health and Tribal health departments – if the cost of attending this conference is a hindrance to your attendance, please email Alicia Rodriguez (arodriguez@mncounties.org) as a limited number of scholarships are available.
MDH employees: Please speak to your direct supervisor to plan for your attendance at the conference.
A room block with group rate pricing will be available at Breezy Point Resort for the two nights of the conference. Information about reserving your lodging will be available this summer. For now, you can plan for a nightly rate of approximately $129 + tax. All individuals will be responsible for making and canceling their own lodging reservations.
