Data includes infants with birth weights between 400 and 8000 grams and gestational age from 22 to 45 weeks.
Low birth weight (lbw) is weight at birth < 2500 grams.
Very low birth weight (vlbw) is weight at birth < 1500 grams.
Full term low birth weight (ftlbw) is weight at birth < 2500 grams among infants born at ≥ 37 weeks of gestational age.
High birth weight (hbw) is weight at birth > 4000 grams.
Prenatal WIC participation categories:
- ≥ 3 months: enrolled for three or more months of pregnancy
- < 3 months: enrolled for less than three months of pregnancy
- none: WIC participation postpartum only or never (only infant enrolled).

Counts and percentages are based on number of infants on whom birth information was available.
* Totals and numbers breastfeeding < 5 are suppressed. Percentages are not calculated for locations with < 30 participants.
