Food Package Updates

Guidance

The next phase of food package updates will begin with June benefit issuance and is part of a phased approach to implementing the new regulations. These changes:

• Aim to improve the balance and choice of the WIC food package based on the latest scientific information to help support good nutrition and health.
• Encourage fruit and vegetable consumption and provide more food options.

June food packages should only be created at the time June benefits are issued and when the participant is on the phone or present in person.

Food package materials

The following materials are posted here temporarily so that WIC staff may use them as they create June food packages before June. These materials will be effective June 1 and posted to the public facing webpages on the WIC website then.
