Minnesota-Approved Medication Curricula Training Programs

The commissioner must maintain a current list of acceptable medication administration curricula to be used for medication aide training programs for employees of nursing homes and certified boarding care homes on the department's website that are based on current best practice standards and meet the requirements of Minnesota Rules, part 4658.1360, subpart 2, item B. 

Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has approved the following curricula for medication training programs in nursing homes that meet the current requirements outlined in Minnesota Rules, 4658.1360, subpart 2, item B.

OnTrack Medication Aide Training Program, “OnTrack TMA”

Description of program

The OnTrack Medication Aide Training Program, or OnTrack TMA, prepares caregivers for meaningful careers serving Minnesota’s aging population. The program includes 22 hours of online, on-demand learning, 24 hours of in-person lab and clinical experience, and a 2-hour final exam. The program includes a Learning Journal (textbook) for each student and complementary RN Instructor training, materials, and 1:1 support. Developed by the LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation and powered by EduCare, OnTrack combines credible, cutting-edge curriculum with the flexibility organizations need to train learners anytime, anywhere.
