Initial Public Notice Examples

Example 1:

The City of [City Name] is seeking public comments on the potential environmental, historic, and archaeological impacts associated with its proposed [Project Name].

The project is located at [Project Location] and will include [Project Details].

Funding for this project is proposed to be provided through a Drinking Water Revolving Fund loan, which will be jointly administered by the Minnesota Department of Health and the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority.

We invite you to submit your comments to [name, mailing address or email] by 5:00 PM on [Deadline].

Example 2:

The city of Charm is holding a public meeting and is accepting public comments for the construction of a new public water supply well and pumphouse.

The well is expected to provide 1,000 gallons of water per minute. The site is Lot 3, Block 5, Anderson Addition in Section 2, T120N, R10E, Great Plains Township. The address is 124xx 376th St. West. (An alternative would be to use a map to identify the site.)

Written comments will be accepted through (date which is at least 30 days after date of publication). Submit them to (name and email/ mailing address). A public hearing on the well and pumphouse will be held as part of the regular council meeting at 7:00 PM, April 27, 2011 at the city hall council chambers, 335 W. Tuttle St., Charm, MN.
